When you own a car, one of the things you must do is ensure it has a valid MOT certificate (cars which are older than 3 years old). Only certain garages are allowed to carry out MOT tests. You must use an approved MOT test centre, as listed on the Government MOT website. You can tell which centres are allowed to complete MOT tests, as they have a blue sign with three white triangles on.
You can book an MOT really easily – most garages which do MOT testing allow you to call them to book. The actual MOT test does not take very long, nor is it expensive. Usually an MOT test costs a maximum of £54.85 for a car and £29.65 for a motorcycle. The expensive part can be if your car fails the test and requires some work to get it up to standard.
